I love cycling because it’s by far the best way engage with life in its every form. It makes you appreciate nature and blend with the environment. I ride because I still remember the peace & freedom I felt exploring Patagonia on a self-supported trip more than 20 years ago. I find it to be one of the most intimate modes of transportation and it lets you experience local communities & relate with their people as one of them. I prefer to travel slow, as light as possible and through the path less traveled. I hope to take my little personal project (www.theironlyportrait.com) to a different country every year, visiting the most isolated villages in pristine locations while making the smallest impact as possible to the environment.
As a child I dreamt of exploring Africa as a National Geographic photographer, but I got a degree and celebrated a successful career in Foreign Trade instead. Five years ago I gave up a 15+ years career to follow my passion for photography, and I started commuting to reduce my stress & to return to a simple/healthier way of living. I enjoy everything related to nature & adventure and while traveling through South America I found out a lot of families didn’t have one single family portrait… and as I always wanted to travel with a bigger purpose than self-discovery I knew I had to make a difference.
